Safari Overview

Kibale Forest- the primate capital of the world is home to a wide range of primate species including our delightful cousins- the chimpanzees. Containing one of the loveliest and most varied tracts of tropical forest cover in Uganda, this park is home to half of the world’s remaining chimpanzees, 13 species of primates, 70 species of mammals and 375 species of birds some of which are endemic to the region.

  • 1 - To Kibale Forest National Park/ Entanda Cultural Tour

    Meet and greet our company representative who will assist you with anything you might need for your safari. Depart Entebbe/ Kampala heading to Kibale Forest.

    En-route visit a local community for a first-hand and personal experience and taste of the true cultural practices, norms, and beliefs of the people of Uganda.

    Activities here include: interacting with the local people as they go about their day to day activities, educative and informative fun-filled tales, learning the major musical instruments, cooking classes (right from harvesting food from the garden to preparation to serving), bark cloth making, games like football & netball- board games like “omweso”, local medicinal wine processing among others. You also get to enjoy the traditional dishes served as well as a self-service buffet of fresh fruits.
    Proceed to Kibale Forest, the drive-through of this lush countryside is scenic. Upon arrival to Kibale, you will be in a different world-one of Uganda’s most rewarding destinations. If you are very lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of the meandering herd of Forest Elephant.

  • 2 - Chimpanzee Trekking.

    In the morning you can choose to relax at your lodge or chose to go for a swamp walk. Your swamp walk will take you through grassland, small communities and some beautiful scenery, where the locals are likely to greet you with enthusiastic waves. It is usual to spot 3 or 4 different primate species during this walk.,

    At 2:00pm in the afternoon, your Chimpanzee tracking excursion will commence. At this moment, in Uganda, there are approximately 4,950 Chimps left in the wild, which makes this forest a perfect and best place to spot chimpanzees in Africa! During the excursion, your ranger will point out the other species living in the forest, including birds, flora and fauna.

  • 3 - Departure

    Drive back to the starting point of your safari for departure. En route, you have a stopover at the equator crossing for photography, shopping or meals

    Please Note- Accommodation for tonight is not inclusive in the program. If you wish to depart tonight from Entebbe Airport, make sure your flight is at 5 pm or later. If you would like us to book one or more nights in Kampala or Entebbe, please let us know.
